Russia increases iron, steel and aluminum exports to Türkiye
Russia significantly boosted its exports of iron, steel and aluminum to Türkiye in October, reaching the highest monthly levels since May, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) analyzed by Russian media outlet RIA Novosti’s report.
Iron and steel exports reach $218.6 million
Russian exports of iron and steel to Türkiye rose to $218.6 million in October, a 4% increase compared to September. This marks the highest volume since May.
Additionally, sales of iron and steel products saw a substantial rise, growing to $32.4 million from $23.6 million in September.
Aluminum and copper shipments surge
Aluminum exports from Russia to Türkiye also reportedly increased, reaching $82.2 million in October, up 25% from September’s $65.8 million. This figure is the highest recorded since May when aluminum shipments totaled $85.1 million.
Copper exports surged 2.6 times, reaching $52.6 million, while nickel exports quadrupled to $1.9 million.
Russia’s position among major suppliers
In October, Russia maintained its position as Türkiye’s second-largest supplier of iron and steel, behind China, which exported $346.2 million worth of these materials.
Russia was also Türkiye’s second-largest supplier of aluminum, following India, which shipped $91.4 million worth of aluminum during the same period.
