A major development has occurred in the gas station sector. Mehmet Abbasoglu, CEO of Türkiye’s leading gas station company, Petrol Ofisi, announced the acquisition of BP Türkiye and its subsidiaries by Petrol Ofisi has been approved.

Petrol Ofisi, one of Türkiye’s leading gas station chains, is making a significant acquisition.

In November 2023, Petrol Ofisi announced it would take over BP Türkiye’s gas station operations. Following this announcement, the awaited news has arrived.

Mehmet Abbasoglu, CEO of Petrol Ofisi, revealed that the Competition Authority has approved the acquisition of BP Türkiye and its subsidiaries by Petrol Ofisi.

BP, which has been operating in Türkiye since 1912 with over 700 stations, announced in November that it would withdraw from the country. The Petrol Ofisi Group announced it had signed a share purchase agreement to acquire BP’s gas station operations in Türkiye.

With this acquisition, Petrol Ofisi, which currently has 1,935 stations, will increase its network to 2,705 stations across Türkiye.
