OECD slightly raises world growth forecast but warns about Mideast risk
The Paris-based organization said it now expects growth of 2.9%, up from 2.7% in its previous forecast in November
The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) slightly raised its 2024 world economic growth forecast Monday. However, the organization warned that the Middle East conflict posed a risk, with disruptions in Red Sea shipping threatening to increase consumer prices.
The Paris-based organization said it now expects growth of 2.9%, up from 2.7% in its previous forecast in November, as it sharply raised the outlook for the United States, the world’s top economy.
