NVIDIA reveals latest RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs
Windows laptops equipped with the latest NVIDIA RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs to hit the market this spring
NVIDIA introduced the latest RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop graphics processing units (GPUs) Monday. These new models will expand the current lineup based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, which includes the RTX 2000, 3000, 3500, 4000, and 5000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs.
Cutting-edge AI processing capabilities
The upcoming mobile workstations will come equipped with both a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and an NVIDIA RTX GPU featuring Tensor Cores for artificial intelligence processing. The NPU will manage light AI tasks, while the GPU will offer enhanced AI performance for more complex AI workflows.
Unmatched performance with RTX 500 GPU
The new RTX 500 GPU is set to provide up to 14 times the generative AI performance for models like Stable Diffusion, up to three times faster AI-powered photo editing, and up to 10 times the graphics performance for 3D rendering compared to a setup using only a CPU. The RTX 500 and 1000 GPUs are tailored to improve AI workflows for laptop users in sleek and compact designs.
Efficiency and Mobility with NVIDIA RTX The RTX 500 and 1000 GPUs, built on the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, introduce the latest innovations to slim and portable laptops. These enhancements comprise:
- Third-generation RT Cores: Delivering up to twice the ray tracing performance of the previous generation for high-quality, realistic rendering.
- Fourth-generation Tensor Cores: Providing up to twice the throughput of the previous generation, accelerating deep learning training, inferencing, and AI-driven creative tasks.
- Ada Generation CUDA cores: Offering up to 30% more single-precision floating point (FP32) throughput compared to the previous generation, resulting in significant performance boosts in graphics and computational workloads.
- Dedicated GPU memory: The RTX 500 GPU comes with 4 gigabytes of GPU memory, while the RTX 1000 GPU offers 6 gigabytes, enabling users to handle demanding 3D and AI applications, as well as larger projects, datasets, and multi-app workflows.
- DLSS 3: Introducing a breakthrough in AI-enhanced graphics, significantly enhancing performance by generating additional high-quality frames.
- AV1 encoder: The eighth-generation NVIDIA encoder, NVENC, with AV1 support is up to 40% more efficient than H.264, opening up new possibilities for broadcasting, streaming, and video calls.
Windows laptops featuring the new NVIDIA RTX 500 and 1000 Ada Generation Laptop GPUs will be released this spring by original equipment manufacturers such as Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, and MSI.
