Nasdaq’s ‘high-flying’ drone manufacturer shifts focus to Türkiye
ZenaTech, a U.S-based manufacturer specializing in military and agricultural drones, has announced plans to launch its first facility in Türkiye in the first quarter of 2025.
The company, listed on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, a U.S-based global electronic marketplace for buying and selling securities, aims to establish a testing center as its initial step in the country, as reported by business-focused dunya.com on Saturday.
Shaun Passley, CEO of ZenaTech, highlighted the strategic importance of the move by praising Türkiye’s drone industry, stating, “Türkiye is a prime location in Europe for experimental drone testing and is renowned for its defense industry innovation. We are excited to collaborate there.”
The upcoming facility will focus on testing defense drone applications, including “Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting” (ISRT), as well as logistics and transportation systems.
Additionally, the company plans to design a mobile Drone Command Center capable of managing multiple drones operating simultaneously.
The facility is expected to provide additional testing and preparation support for future U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensing applications.
Türkiye becomes the 2nd stop of ZenaTech after the Gulf
Founded in 2017 to develop software for the agricultural sector, ZenaTech launched its first drone and crop monitoring technology in 2018. The company has since expanded its portfolio, acquiring the medical records software PacePlus in 2019 and the field management software TillerStack for railways and construction in 2020.
In 2022, ZenaTech opened its first 3,000-square-meter (32,291,7 square feet) drone manufacturing facility in Dubai, UAE. The following year, it launched a second facility in the UAE, spanning 10,000 square meters.
In December, ZenaDrone, a subsidiary of ZenaTech, relocated to a new manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona to produce domestic drones for the U.S. military and NATO. The facility focuses on the production, assembly, and R&D of the ZenaDrone 1000, an advanced autonomous AI-powered drone designed for defense applications.
