Mercedes-Benz Group AG will recall 116,020 vehicles in the U.S. due to potential overheating issues in the 48-volt ground connection under the passenger seat

Mercedes-Benz Group AG has issued a recall of 116,020 vehicles in the United States following concerns of potential overheating, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced Wednesday.

Documents from the NHTSA indicate that a 48-volt ground connection located under the passenger seat may not be securely fastened, leading to the risk of overheating in the ground connection.

The recall encompasses various models of Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS vehicles.

Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notifications regarding the recall, and authorized dealers will conduct thorough inspections and necessary repairs on the 48-volt ground connection at no cost to the owners.

This proactive measure aims to address safety concerns and ensure the proper functioning of the vehicles, prioritizing consumers’ well-being.
