Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov received Ihlas Holding and Orta Asya Investment Holding’s Board Chairman Ahmet Mucahid Oren on Wednesday.

President Japarov was briefed on the ongoing Bishkek CHPP-2 Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant and the Kazarman Hydroelectric Power Plant projects being undertaken by the two companies since November 2024.

The Kyrgyz president stated that these projects would mark the beginning of new collaborations. He noted that research activities at the plant construction sites have been completed. President Japarov stated, “This is the first investment project using innovative technical solutions. I am fully confident that this project will be the beginning of a long-term and constructive cooperation.”

Large-scale housing projects planned for the future in Kyrgyzstan were also discussed during the meeting. The details of which are to be revealed at a later date. President Japarov at large expressed his full support for Ihlas Holding’s activities in the country.

Thermal power plant to be commissioned in 2028

President Sadyr Japarov emphasized that they would provide all necessary support for the projects and noted that with the new thermal power plant built by Ihlas and Orta Asya coming online in 2028, significant improvements in the capital’s environmental conditions are anticipated.

He stated, “The project includes the construction of modern power units, the installation of new equipment, the development of related infrastructure, and the modernization of the heating and power supply systems. The gas pipeline project requires special attention. Its implementation must be as safe as possible for city residents.”

Ihlas Holdings strategic signatures

Oren stated that their companies are ready to implement the outlined projects. The chairman added that Ihlas Holding is now officially represented in the Kyrgyz Republic, underlining that, “We consider the projects in hydroelectric and thermal power engineering as strategically important and a top priority. We are confident that their implementation will form the foundation for the sustainable development of the country’s energy sector and create conditions for future investment initiatives.”

Expressing satisfaction with investing in a friendly and brotherly country, Oren emphasized that with energy investments in Kyrgyzstan amounting to a project volume of $7 billion, they aim to provide sustainable and long-term value for the state and people of the Kyrgyz Republic. Oren also stated that their company positions itself as a domestic investor firmly aligned with national interests.

At the end of the meeting, President Sadyr Japarov proposed enhancing cooperation in the areas of staff training, advanced education for specialists, and knowledge exchange.

The ongoing investments of Ihlas and Orta Asya are indicative of the growing climate of cooperation and enhanced ties between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan.
