Istanbul stocks open the session flat after major crash

Borsa Istanbul’s benchmark index, the BIST 100, opened slightly lower on Thursday, declining by 0.21% to 9,839.83, following a massive sell-off that plummeted the market by 8.72% to below the 10,000 mark.

While the banking index lost 1.68% in value, the holding index remained flat. Among sector indices, mining was the top gainer, rising by 1.37%, while financial leasing and factoring recorded the biggest loss, down 1.86%.
