Istanbul hosts global artists, experts at 2024 Digital Art FestivaI
Featuring around 55 artists from across the globe, Istanbul Digital Art Festival 2024 explores digital creativity through augmented and virtual realities, along with AI-enhanced artworks, at Istanbul’s cultural hub
Istanbul gears up for the fourth annual Istanbul Digital Art Festival (IDAF), which will take place from May 2 to 5 at the Ataturk Kultur Merkezi (AKM).
This year’s festival, titled “Search Reality,” is being organized with the support of Turk Telekom and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The theme promises a unique fusion of technological innovation and artistic expression.
As the main technology sponsor, Turk Telekom continues its tradition of fostering cultural events by bringing together celebrated artists and digital artworks from both Türkiye and abroad.
The festival will feature approximately 55 artists whose digital artworks will be displayed. These artworks will push the boundaries of augmented and virtual reality and even artificial intelligence-enhanced art.
IDAF will also offer various interactive experiences, exploring the innovative intersection of technology and art. The Turk Telekom Lounge at AKM will serve as a central hub for daily panels.
Visitors can look forward to a nostalgic journey through old Turkish cinema – also known as Yesilcam – enhanced with augmented reality technology. Additionally, in collaboration with Istanbul Technical University (ITU), the Fiber Advanced Transformation Workshop will allow participants to transform waste fiber cables into art pieces.
The festival’s diverse programming also includes AI-supported fashion designs, which will be showcased throughout the event. The Uygur Theatre will present special performances for children, and attendees can expect a series of podcasts featuring key artists.
