Istanbul Airport, the largest aviation hub in Türkiye, has once again secured its position as the busiest airport in Europe. The airport’s consistent performance has elevated it to the ninth busiest airport worldwide among a list of 25 global airports.

According to the latest European Aviation Overview report released by the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol), the airport averaged an impressive 1,359 daily flights last week.

Turkish Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu shared these significant figures, highlighting the airport’s global prominence.

Türkiye secured sixth place among European countries with an average of 2,815 daily flights, according to Uraloglu. Highlighting Turkish airspace’s efficiency, Uraloğlu noted that the average delay per flight is under 0.5 minutes, the lowest in Europe.

“Our success in managing high flight density has extended to minimizing delay times,” Uraloglu stated, emphasizing the country’s strong performance in aviation operations.
