Google reveals plans to provide reduced-price replacements for the Pixel Watch to users who experience damage to their device after warranty period

If your Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2 is damaged, Google is ready to provide a replacement for your smartwatch instead of repairing it. If your smartwatch breaks and its warranty expires, you must purchase an entirely new watch.

However, as of today, Google has announced that it will now offer a reduced price for out-of-warranty smartwatch replacements.

According to a post in the Google Pixel Watch Help forums, Google said: “If your Pixel Watch is out of warranty or your claim isn’t covered, you may have the option to buy a replacement for your device at a discounted price.”

It’s important to note that a replacement will not include a charging cable or band.

At present, the exact cost of a Pixel Watch with the out-of-warranty discount is not known. The standard warranty for a Pixel Watch in the U.S. is limited to one year.

Therefore, the discounted replacements apply if the warranty has expired or does not cover an issue. Google also specifies that replacements may not be available at all times, in all areas or for all Pixel Watch models.

To access the discounted replacement pricing, owners of the first-generation Pixel Watch can reach out to the Pixel Watch Customer Care Team.

For Pixel Watch 2 users, a self-service, mail-in replacement option is available.

For this purpose, visit the Google Store website, locate the repairs button at the bottom of the page, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the form.

Alternatively, Pixel Watch 2 users can still contact the Pixel Watch Customer Care Team for assistance.

The support page for Pixel Watch replacements has been updated to reflect these changes.

The policies for Preferred Care and under-warranty replacements remain unchanged. However, a new section has been added for out-of-warranty replacements: “If your Pixel Watch is out of warranty or your claim isn’t covered, you can get your Pixel Watch replaced out of warranty at the Google Store.”
