The European Automobile Manufacturers Association supports EU’s decision to phase out fossil-fuel vehicles by 2035

Europe’s automotive industry, represented by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), has affirmed Monday its acceptance of the European Union’s decision to phase out fossil-fuel vehicles by 2035.

Luca de Meo, ACEA’s President, announced during a press conference at the Geneva car show that the industry will not contest the regulation regardless of the outcome of this year’s European parliamentary elections.

Emphasizing the industry’s responsibility, de Meo highlighted that business leaders’ role is not to oppose regulatory decisions but to adapt and contribute to the transition toward sustainable mobility.

This statement reflects a collective commitment to align with the EU’s climate goals and foster a greener automotive landscape.
