Christian Ballaro, the Program Manager of the EU Delegation to Türkiye, emphasized the common goals shared between Türkiye and the EU in green transformation, highlighting prospects for closer cooperation between the two entities.

Ballaro underscored that both Türkiye and the EU are committed to decarbonizing their economies and transitioning to green energy. He pointed out that Turkish and EU companies involved in renewable energy equipment production share mutual interests in expanding their collaboration.

Ballaro noted positive sentiments regarding value chains and investment opportunities within Türkiye.

Reflecting on recent developments, Ballaro referenced the EU Energy Commissioner’s recognition of Türkiye’s advancements in diversifying energy sources toward renewables.

Türkiye has made significant progress in increasing its renewable energy capacity. This sets the stage for enhanced cooperation between the EU and Türkiye.

He also highlighted the historical cooperation between Türkiye and the EU, noting European producers’ growing interest in investing in Türkiye’s renewable energy sector.

Moreover, Ballaro stressed the necessity of further investment in renewable energy, emphasizing that the green transition is a permanent shift requiring the adaptation of energy systems to handle variable production.

He concluded by asserting that building a robust green energy ecosystem will not only bolster energy capacity but also generate economic opportunities, enhance employment, and improve overall living standards, thereby fostering resilient energy systems integral to everyday life.
