X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is experiencing widespread disruptions, with owner Elon Musk attributing the issues to a large-scale cyberattack that may involve a nation-state.

The statement raises concerns over the scale and sophistication of the attack, though no official confirmation has been made regarding its origin or those responsible. Some sources claim the responsible for the cyberattack is “Dark Storm Team” but nothing to confirm so far.
Musk says X outage caused by cyberattack from Ukraine-area IP addresses
US billionaire Elon Musk said Monday that a “massive cyberattack” on X, originated from the Ukraine region as users worldwide experienced major disruptions.
“We are not sure what exactly happened. But there was a massive cyberattack to try and bring down X system with IP addresses originating in the Ukraine area,” Musk said during an interview with Fox News.

X users report major service disruptions
According to outage tracker DownDetector, users began experiencing issues around 5:30 a.m. Eastern Time (0930 GMT). While services briefly resumed after about an hour, disruptions surged again nearly three hours later.
Affected users have reported pages failing to load and timelines not refreshing.
