DNA tests confirm Turkish businessperson Haci Sabanci fathered child from extramarital affair
A legal dispute involving Haci Sabanci, one of Türkiye’s richest men and a prominent member of one of Türkiye’s wealthiest families, has taken a new turn with the release of a DNA report, revealing that he is the father of a 4-year-old child born from an extramarital affair. Haci Sabanci is married since 2021.
According to Turkish media outlet Hurriyet daily, the report, submitted to the Istanbul Family Court, confirms with 99.99% certainty that Sabanci is the father of 4-year-old child, whose mother, identified as Fatma D., filed the paternity suit.
According to the petition filed in court, Haci Sabanci and Fatma D. met 14 years ago through social media and remained in occasional contact. Their relationship reportedly deteriorated in February 2021, after Sabanci learned that Fatma D.’s child was his, the petition alleges.
DNA test refutes Haci Sabanci
Following Sabanci’s marriage to Nazli Kayi in October 2021, Fatma D. initiated legal proceedings to have Sabanci officially registered as the father of her child.
Haci Sabanci, one of Türkiye’s richest men, had previously claimed that the allegations were baseless.
Fatma D.’s claims have now been substantiated by forensic DNA analysis, which was eagerly awaited by both parties. The Istanbul Family Court, which holds jurisdiction over the case, has received the forensic report and will make the final ruling.
Haci Sabanci serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Densa Holding and represents the fourth generation of the Sabanci family, known as the son of Arzu Sabanci and Omer Sabanci. Sabanci family is known Türkiye’s second richest family after Koc family.
