The Competition Board has launched an investigation into Yemek Sepeti Electronic Communication Retail Food over allegations of competition law violations
The Competition Board has decided to open an investigation into Türkiye’s largest online food ordering website and application, Yemek Sepeti Electronic Communication Retail Food.
According to the announcement on the competition authority’s website, a preliminary investigation was conducted regarding allegations that Yemek Sepeti Electronic Communication Retail Food violated the relevant article of the Law on the Protection of Competition.
The competition authority has decided to open an investigation into Yemek Sepeti due to its mandatory imposition of its own courier service and the alleged hindrance of member businesses’ operations.
The board, deliberating the information, documents, and findings obtained during the preliminary investigation, deemed the findings serious and sufficient, leading to the decision to initiate an investigation against the company.
However, it’s important to note that the investigation decisions made by the board do not necessarily imply that the enterprises or enterprise associations under investigation have violated the Law and will face sanctions.
