Jan Koum, co-founder and former CEO of WhatsApp, was spotted in Marmaris, Mugla on vacation this year.

This time Koum visited Emel Sayin Bay with his 68-meter-long superyacht, Nebula. Built in 2022, the yacht’s market value is known to be $40 million.

The Nebula has a maximum speed of 20 knots and can accommodate eight guests with a crew of 10. The yacht’s annual operating costs are approximately $4 million. The Spanish shipbuilding company Astilleros Armon, specializing in commercial and military shipbuilding, built Nebula.

Koum’s visit last year

Koum had also come to Marmaris for vacation in September 2023. Koum, who anchored in Emel Sayin Bay last year with his 73.51-meter-long and 12-meter-wide yacht named Mogambo, visited the region with the smaller Nebula this year.

Who is Jan Koum?

Born in 1976, Jan Koum is a Ukrainian-American entrepreneur and co-founder of WhatsApp. Facebook acquired WhatsApp for $19.3 billion in 2014. According to current data from Forbes, Koum’s fortune is $16.1 billion, ranking him as the 120th richest person in the world. Koum announced his departure from the Facebook board in 2018.
