Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications announced Thursday that Chinese energy company Zhengtai Xinneng (CHINT) will establish the country’s first wholly foreign-owned solar cell manufacturing facility.

According to the agreement, CHINT will construct an advanced TOPCon cell production line in Türkiye, with plans to export 80 percent of its output to global markets.

This isn’t CHINT’s first investment in Türkiye’s renewable energy sector. The company previously built a photovoltaic module factory in the country, strengthening its foothold in Türkiye’s growing green energy market.

The investment represents a significant milestone in Türkiye’s “High Technology Incentive Program (HIT-30),” which was launched by the Turkish government in July 2024. The initiative aims to attract international investments in strategic sectors including electric vehicles, semiconductors, battery technologies, and renewable energy, with a total investment target of $30 billion.
