Azerbaijan exported 7.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye in the first nine months of 2024, according to data released by the country’s Ministry of Energy. During the same period, Azerbaijan supplied 9.4 billion cubic meters to Europe and 1.7 billion cubic meters to Georgia.

Azerbaijan’s natural gas, oil exports on rise

The Ministry of Energy’s report also highlighted that Azerbaijan produced 37.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first three quarters of 2024, with 18.4 billion cubic meters exported to international markets.

Besides natural gas, Azerbaijan’s oil production, including condensates, reached 21.6 million tons during the same period, with 17.9 million tons exported abroad.

Türkiye, Europe among top markets

Türkiye remains one of Azerbaijan’s key natural gas markets, with significant exports recorded in 2024. Europe also saw substantial imports from Azerbaijan, reflecting the country’s strategic importance as a major energy supplier in the region.

Growing energy production in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a global energy supplier through growing natural gas and oil production. The country’s export volumes demonstrate its expanding role in meeting the energy needs of key regional partners, including Türkiye, Europe and Georgia.
