Italy’s astronaut says extraordinary experience with Gezeravci

Italian astronaut Walter Villadei highlights the significance of the space mission, stressing the collaborative efforts of the state, military, academia and industry

Italian astronaut Colonel Walter Villadei, who was part of the Axiom-3 team, Thursday said that he had an extraordinary experience with Alper Gezeravci.

During an interview with Anadolu Agency, Villadei said that this mission was essential in showing how well the state, army, academia, and industry worked, highlighting that the mission worked well for the team.

A “welcome” event was held for Villadei at the Italian Air Force Command headquarters in Rome.

Speaking at the event, Italian Space Agency President Teodoro Valente said that Italy has carried out seven experiments on various subjects, from agriculture to neurological diseases, through Village and that these will benefit Italy.

After the event, Colonel Villadei evaluated the Axiom-3 mission and his work with Gezeravci, the first Turkish astronaut with whom he performed experiments in the team.
