Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, announced the deployment of an eight-member team to investigate the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan. The incident occurred during a Baku-Grozny flight on December 25.

In a statement shared on his social media account on X, Uraloglu said the team was formed at the request of Azerbaijan’s State Civil Aviation Agency. “To investigate the causes of the accident, conduct technical and operational analyses, and provide necessary support, we have assembled a team of experts,” he noted.

The delegation will work in coordination with local authorities to examine the incident comprehensively and prepare a report on their findings, Uraloglu added.

The team is set to depart for Baku this evening and will commence their investigations tomorrow. Uraloglu emphasized Türkiye’s solidarity with Azerbaijan in this challenging time.

“As Türkiye, we reaffirm our unwavering support for Azerbaijan under all circumstances. We extend our condolences to those who lost their lives and once again wish our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters strength and resilience,” he said.
