Turkish Airlines inaugurated a dedicated ‘Pet Lounge’ at Istanbul Airport, enhancing travel services for passengers with pets.

Passengers can bring their pets into the aircraft cabin if their total weight, including the carrier, does not exceed 8 kilograms (17.6 pounds) and the carrier dimensions remain within 23 centimeters (9.05511811 inches) in height, 30 centimeters in width and 40 centimeters in length.

Pets exceeding these criteria are transported in the aircraft’s cargo hold.

To provide a more comfortable experience for pets not eligible for cabin travel, Turkish Airlines has inaugurated the Pet Lounge at Istanbul Airport, ensuring pets have a relaxing space before their flights.

Pet Lounge can serve 78 animals simultaneously

Abdulkerim Cay, Turkish Airlines‘ Deputy General Manager for Human Resources, shared details about the newly opened Pet Lounge:

  • The lounge spans 250 square meters (2,690.9776 square feet) and includes an outdoor terrace.
  • It can accommodate up to 78 animals at a time, including 32 dogs, 36 cats and 10 birds.
  • A full-time veterinary service is also available to ensure the well-being of pets.
