Sofascore: Türkiye blocks access to popular sports stats platform
Sofascore temporarily banned in Türkiye due to illegal betting accusations.
Sofascore.com, one of the most popular sports statistics websites in Türkiye has been restricted by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA).
ICTA has not issued an official statement explaining the restriction, leaving users curious.
When attempting to access “sofascore.com,” users are met with a notice stating that the website has been blocked by ICTA.
The official warning on the website reads: “Illegal betting may be used to finance terrorism. Funds sent to illegal betting sites may incriminate you. Additionally, illegal betting and gambling are crimes,” along with relevant laws concerning illegal betting and gambling.
It is speculated that the restriction was imposed due to betting advertisements published on Sofascore.
