Cleversoft, a German fintech company specializing in financial asset management platforms and systems to prevent financial fraud, has initiated talks to acquire Istanbul-based Fineksus as part of its strategy to broaden its global service network.

Founded in 2004 by Florian Clever, the Munich-based Cleversoft Group quickly achieved significant success, earning the title of “Best Software Company” in Germany for two consecutive years.

Today, the company is recognized as one of the leading providers of cloud-based compliance services for the European financial services sector.

Cleversoft employs nearly 300 software engineers and serves over 1,000 clients across various European countries.

The company’s prestigious client list includes financial giants such as Citi, Barclays, Zurich Insurance, Jyske Bank, Rabobank, UniCredit and Atradius. Cleversoft operates offices in Amsterdam, The Hague, Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Sofia.

Known for its expertise in asset management platforms, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, and risk management, Cleversoft has made a name for itself through two significant acquisitions: the Dutch firm BusinessForensics in 2020 and CDDS in 2021. These moves marked Cleversoft’s intensified focus on the financial crime prevention sector.

Business-focused dunya.com reported that upon finalizing the acquisition, Cleversoft will gain full control of Fineksus, a Turkish company offering end-to-end solutions ranging from payment processing to anti-money laundering systems.

Official ‘SWIFT Business Partner’

Founded in Istanbul in 2002, Fineksus expanded its operations significantly after becoming an official “SWIFT Business Partner” for Türkiye and the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region in 2014.

By 2013, Fineksus had strengthened its collaboration with SWIFT and expanded its reach to eight new countries, managing regional operations from its newly established Dubai office.

Fineksus serves over 95% of Türkiye’s SWIFT traffic, with a client portfolio that includes major players such as Akbank, Qatargas, Afghanistan International Bank, Qatar Central Bank, Albank, Turk Ticaret Bankasi, RakBank, ING, Is Yatirim, ICBC, Denizbank and HSBC.

Operating in 32 countries, Fineksus also maintains offices in Dubai, Kuwait and Baku.
