Pegasus Airlines, Türkiye’s low-cost carrier, announced Thursday that it has placed a historic order for 200 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft in its largest-ever deal, valued at approximately $36 billion.

“Pegasus has signed an agreement with The Boeing Company for 200 Boeing 737-10 aircraft,” the airline said in a statement, calling the contract “historic.”

Largest order in Pegasus’ history

Pegasus CEO Guliz Ozturk confirmed that the first 100 aircraft, for which firm orders have been placed, will begin joining the airline’s fleet starting in 2028. “This is the largest order in Pegasus’ history,” Ozturk said.

The agreement also includes options to purchase an additional 100 planes from Boeing.

“We will evaluate converting the remaining 100 aircraft options into firm orders in the coming years, based on market conditions and the needs of our fleet,” Ozturk added.

Founded in 1990, Pegasus Airlines operates 109 international routes to 53 countries and serves 35 destinations within Türkiye, according to the company’s website. The airline operates primarily from its hub at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport on the city’s Asian side.
