Turkish white goods manufacturer Arcelik once again earned the highest score in the durable consumer goods sector, receiving 89 out of 100 in the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, marking its sixth consecutive victory.

According to a company statement, as of Nov. 22, Arcelik secured the top spot among 45 companies in the durable household products sector with its exceptional score of 89 in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment evaluates companies’ performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions. Arcelik has also been listed in the Dow Jones Emerging Markets Index for the eighth consecutive time.

Arcelik CEO Hakan Bulgurlu emphasized their firm steps toward a more sustainable future, stating:

Arcelik continues to implement numerous global projects in sustainability, ranking high across various indices. By the end of 2023, compared to the 2015 baseline, the company reduced energy consumption per product by 25.7% in production processes. Through 373 energy efficiency projects implemented in 2023, Arcelik saved approximately 95,680 gigajoules of energy and prevented 6,983 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions.

By the end of 2023, Arcelik achieved a 64% green electricity usage rate in production operations and aims to increase this to 100% by 2030. The company also plans to encourage its suppliers to transition to 100% green electricity usage, contributing to a net-zero future.
