Turkish basketball teams gear up for busy week in European competitions
Turkish basketball teams representing Türkiye in European competitions will take to the court for 15 matches this week across various tournaments.
A total of 14 Turkish teams are competing in the 2024-25 European basketball season, with 10 teams in the men’s competitions and four teams in the women’s tournaments.
Turkish basketball teams continue strong presence in Europe
In the men’s category, Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes compete in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, while Besiktas Fibabanka, Turk Telekom, and Bahcesehir Koleji represent Türkiye in the EuroCup. The Basketball Champions League sees the participation of Galatasaray, Karsiyaka, Aliaga Petkim, and Manisa Basket, with TOFAS competing in the FIBA Europe Cup.
For the women, Fenerbahce Opet and Cukurova Basketball Club (CBK) Mersin represent Türkiye in the EuroLeague Women, while Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring and Besiktas compete in the FIBA EuroCup Women.
EuroLeague double-week excitement
In the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, both Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes will play two games this week. Fenerbahce Beko faces Barcelona on Tuesday and Paris Basketball on Thursday. Anadolu Efes hosts Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday and Partizan on Friday.
Packed schedule for EuroCup and Champions League
In the EuroCup, Turkish clubs face tough challenges as Bahcesehir Koleji hosts Dreamland Gran Canaria on Tuesday, Turk Telekom visits Cedevita Olimpija on Wednesday, and Besiktas Fibabanka takes on Hapoel Shlomo in Bulgaria on Wednesday.
The Basketball Champions League features four games involving Turkish teams. On Tuesday, Aliaga Petkim visits Filou Oostende, and Galatasaray travels to face RASTA Vechta. On Wednesday, Manisa Basket hosts FMP, while Karsiyaka visits Saint-Quentin in France.
Women’s teams aim for dominance
In the EuroLeague Women, CBK Mersin will host Beretta Famila Schio on Wednesday, while Fenerbahce Opet visits Umana Reyer Venezia later that evening.
In the FIBA EuroCup Women, Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring will face Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday, and Besiktas hosts InvestInTheWest Enea Gorzow on Thursday.
