Military helicopter crashes in Isparta, emergency response launched
A military helicopter crashed near a fuel station in the Keciborlu district of Isparta, prompting an emergency response from local authorities.
Ambulances and firefighting units were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident.
Turkish Ministry of National Defense, “One of our UH-1 type helicopter, which was on a training flight in Isparta, was involved in an accident and 5 of our personnel were martyred. One of our personnel was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately transferred to the hospital and his treatment started.” stated.
Emergency response underway
Isparta Mayor Sukru Basdegirmen confirmed the crash, stating that the city’s fire and search-and-rescue teams were deployed to the location. He noted that the exact crash site and the number of personnel on board were initially unclear, but investigations were underway.
Isparta Governor Abdullah Erin reported that a military helicopter crashed during a training flight and 5 soldiers were killed. Governor Erin announced that the training commander was also killed in the accident.
