Uskudar Mayor Sinem Dedetas congratulated 12th grader, Sila Nur Yorulmaz on her social media account for being awarded the $352,000 full Harvard University scholarship. Yorulmaz is being researched about questions such as who she is and which high school she attended.

While the success of the 18-year-old girl, who works in fields such as quantum computer, aviation and space technologies, is on the minds of locals, people are wondering just who she is and what kind of life she leads.

Yorulmaz is completing her senior year at the Uskudar American High School. She won the Harvard University Physics Department full scholarship of $352,000, covering her education and accommodation expenses.

Sila Nur Yorulmaz also made a name for herself in unmanned aerial vehicle design and filter developments that maximize carbon dioxide absorption. Sinem Dedetas celebrated her success on her social media account as follows:

“I would like to introduce Sila Nur Yorulmaz, a 12th grade Physics Project student at Uskudar Ahmet Yuksel Ozemre Science and Art Center. Sila is one of the six students in Türkiye who won a full scholarship to Harvard University’s Physics Department. Sila, who continues her studies in the fields of quantum computing, aviation and space technologies, also developed software for the Uskudar UAV, which was partially sponsored by the Uskudar Municipality. It made me very happy to meet and chat with her. I congratulate her once again, wish her continued success, with a kiss on her cheek.”
