Foreign Minister Fidan meets Hamas officials in Doha Forum
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with members of the Hamas Political Bureau during his visit to Doha, Qatar, at the invitation of Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
Fidan’s discussions with the Hamas officials were part of his ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region. The visit comes ahead of his participation in the 22nd Doha Forum, which begins Dec. 7.
Fidan is expected to engage in various sessions during the forum, which this year is centered around the theme, “The Innovation Imperative.” The event will gather politicians, scholars, and experts from around the world to address key global issues, including geopolitics, emerging technologies, security, and economic development.
Alongside his participation in the forum, Fidan is scheduled to hold meetings with his counterparts from various countries. The foreign ministers of Russia, Iran, and Türkiye are also expected to hold a separate meeting within the framework of the Astana process during Fidan’s visit. The Astana-format meeting, anticipated to take place on Dec. 7, will focus on regional security matters.
