Natural marvel shaped over millennia

Spanning a total length of 62 kilometers, the Narman fairy chimneys stand as a testament to the region’s geological history. These formations, composed of red sandstone and gravel enriched with iron minerals, date back to the Pliocene Epoch.

Over millions of years, erosion sculpted the landscape into its current form. Found 7 kilometers along the Narman-Pasinler highway in southern Narman, the chimneys have become a favored destination for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.

Distinct from Cappadocia’s volcanic roots

Unlike the volcanic structures of Cappadocia, the Narman fairy chimneys boast sedimentary formations, giving them a distinct geological character. Their unique features and breathtaking scenery have earned the region designation as a natural protected area.

With snow now blanketing the chimneys, the area transforms into a magical winter escape, attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Often likened to Colorado’s canyons, this remarkable location continues to inspire awe with its striking resemblance to the iconic American landscapes while standing firmly as one of Türkiye’s most unique treasures.

Whether for a serene winter retreat or an adventurous photo journey, the Narman fairy chimneys are a must-visit destination for all seeking the extraordinary.
