Türkiye sees 3.39% increase in food prices, November 2024
The Türkiye Economic Policy Research Foundation (TEPAV) announced that food prices rose by 3.39% in November 2024, according to the Food Price Index (TEGE). This monthly increase contributed to an annual food inflation rate of 45.66% as of November.
Key price changes in fresh produce and other categories
In the fresh fruit and vegetable category, notable price fluctuations included:
- Largest price decreases: Lemon, pear, and potato.
- Largest price increases: Red cabbage, cabbage, and eggplant.
For non-produce items:
- Largest price increases: Cocoa powder beverages, eggs, and raisins.
- Largest price decreases: Turkish delight, kashar cheese, and peanuts.
