The Syrian National Coalition’s Prime Minister Abdurrahman Mustafa announced Saturday in an NTV interview that their forces have launched a significant military operation targeting PKK/YPG supply routes, marking a new phase in the Syria’s ongoing conflict.

“We have launched an operation to cut off the PKK/YPG supply line and complete the corridor from el-Bab to Tel Rifat, achieving significant success against both Assad and PKK/YPG,” Mustafa told NTV.

The operation, officially named “Operation Freedom Dawn,” was formally announced through a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, outlining a comprehensive strategy to liberate Syrian territories and strengthen national defense capabilities along strategic border areas.

In his NTV interview, Mustafa offered a broader assessment of the current political landscape, particularly regarding the Assad regime’s position. “Today, the regime’s power is proportional to the support given by their allies,” he stated, adding, “This is Assad’s power, (therefore) this collapse was not a surprise for us, but we did not expect their allies to remain this poor.”

The official government statement emphasized that the operation represents a crucial step in protecting Syrian sovereignty. The document detailed plans for securing strategic positions while maintaining a strong focus on civilian protection and adherence to international humanitarian law.

The Syrian National Coalition reaffirmed its commitment to territorial integrity and highlighted the Syrian National Army’s central role in the operation. Officials stressed that all military actions would proceed with careful consideration for civilian safety while advancing national security objectives.

The military campaign comes as part of ongoing efforts to stabilize various regions within Syria, with the government emphasizing the importance of coordinated military efforts in achieving these strategic objectives. The statement concluded by underscoring the government’s dedication to both protecting civilian populations and securing strategic interests during this critical operation.
