Türkiye’s aid for Gaza reaches Jordan
Turkish National Defense Ministry announces dispatch of a cargo-loaded A400M aircraft to Gaza carrying essential medical supplies
Türkiye dispatched a military transport plane to Jordan with humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip, as announced by the Turkish National Defense Ministry on Monday.
The ministry stated that health supplies intended for the people of Gaza were transported to Jordan using an A400M aircraft departing from the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command in Kayseri.
Türkiye remains steadfast in its support for Palestine and pledges to continue its endeavors to offer comprehensive assistance to the Palestinian population as part of humanitarian aid initiatives.
In response to a cross-border incursion by Hamas on Oct. 7, Israel initiated a lethal offensive in the Gaza Strip. The subsequent Israeli airstrikes have resulted in the deaths of 30,534 individuals and left 71,920 others wounded, causing widespread destruction and shortages of essential resources.
The Israeli military campaign has forced 85% of Gaza’s residents into internal displacement, exacerbating shortages of food, clean water, and medical supplies. Furthermore, 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure has been either damaged or completely destroyed, according to reports from the United Nations.
Israel is facing accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice. In a preliminary ruling issued in January, Tel Aviv was instructed to cease genocidal actions and implement measures to ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.
