The operations, coordinated by the Gendarmerie General Command’s Cybercrime Directorate and several public prosecutors’ offices, targeted organized criminal networks involved in “qualified fraud” and “illegal betting.”

The “Siberag-10” operation, which was carried out in seven Turkish provinces, led to the arrest of 48 individuals. These provinces included Antalya, Giresun, Manisa, Konya, Sakarya, Mersin and Van.

According to Yerlikaya’s statement on social media, the suspects were linked to a variety of cybercrimes, including fraudulent schemes and illegal online betting activities.

Arrests and legal actions

Of the 48 suspects, 23 have been remanded in custody following court hearings. Meanwhile, 17 others were placed under judicial control, and investigations continue for the remaining individuals.

Authorities have initiated probes into multiple forms of cybercrime, including:

In addition to the arrests, authorities seized several items during the operation, including unlicensed firearms, hunting rifles, numerous computers, mobile phones, storage devices, and credit or debit cards. These materials are believed to be linked to the suspects’ illegal activities.

Minister Yerlikaya emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to combat online fraud and cybercrime, which have been increasingly prevalent in Türkiye.

“Our virtual patrols are on duty 24/7 for our security in the cyber world. Our fight against digital crimes will continue with determination,” Yerlikaya stated.

“I congratulate our Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office who coordinated the operations and our Heroic Gendarmerie who carried out the operations. May God not let you touch a stone. Our nation’s prayers are with you.” Interior Minister Yerlikaya concluded.
