Golden Boy Award goes to Barcelona star
Meanwhile, the 2024 Golden Boy award, recognizing the best under-21 player, was awarded to Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
In Barcelona’s official website, it was stated, “The Golden Boy award for the best male footballer under 23 has gone, not unexpectedly, to Lamine Yamal, who thus inherits the crown from Jude Bellingham. The 17-year-old follows on from Leo Messi (2005), Pedri (2021) and Gavi (2022) to become the club’s fourth winner of the accolade, which he adds to the Kopa Trophy won just a few weeks ago.”
The young Spanish forward had an exceptional year, helping Spain clinch the Euro 2024 title during the summer.
Yamal’s accomplishments have further cemented his reputation as a rising star in European football.
