Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, emphasized the significant turnout at the Istanbul Energy Forum, stating, “This event was crucial in showcasing Türkiye’s position as a central country and a testament to the confidence in our nation.”

Bayraktar highlighted the widespread interest from various countries, suggesting their readiness to collaborate with Türkiye on energy investments.

‘Türkiye to bolster Europe’s energy security in green energy’

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) about the forum, organized for the first time under the theme “Shared Future, Shared Goals” with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Bayraktar reflected on the messages conveyed and his bilateral meetings during the event.

“We have transitioned from being a net importer of energy to producing our own and even becoming an exporter. We currently export natural gas to many countries through BOTAS. We aim to expand these collaborations and elevate them to a greater level,” Bayraktar stated.

Bayraktar also touched upon President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks on Türkiye’s 2035 target of 120,000 megawatts in renewable energy, saying, “We seek to establish and enhance interconnections between countries and regions. Thus, Türkiye will contribute to Europe’s energy security not only through natural gas but also through green energy.”
