Masoud Barzani blasts PKK terrorism, calls it ‘betrayal of Kurdish people’

Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Iraq’s Kurdish Regional Government, stressed the importance of the Kurdish people rejecting terrorism in response to PKK terrorist attacks.

He condemned terrorism as a betrayal, stating, “Those who carry out terrorist actions and believe they are serving the Kurds through terrorism are committing a grave act of betrayal.”

Barzani emphasized the need for peace, saying, “We must extend a hand of peace to everyone, call for brotherhood, and seek peaceful solutions. The conditions for this are more favorable than ever before.”

He also voiced support for the ongoing peace process in Türkiye, noting, “We are encouraged by news of the peace process resuming in Türkiye. We support peaceful solutions wherever they may arise and are ready to contribute in any way we can.”
