Türkiye’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar met with Bulgarian Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov to discuss opportunities for enhancing the capacity of electricity and natural gas interconnection lines.

Talks held during Istanbul Energy Forum

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum, organized by Anadolu Agency under the theme “Common Future, Common Goals.”

Minister Bayraktar announced the discussion on social media platform X and said, “Istanbul Energy Forum has started. In the margins of the forum, we first had a meeting with the Bulgarian Minister of Energy, Vladimir Malinov.”

Cooperation to enhance energy supply

Bayraktar stated, “We evaluated the opportunities to develop our existing cooperation in terms of increasing the capacity of electricity and natural gas interconnection lines, which also serve Europe’s energy supply security, and providing more energy supply to the region.”
