Twin Belarusian climbers, Valentina and Maryia Ivankova, reported missing during a climbing expedition in Türkiye’s Nigde Aladaglar mountain range, were found safe in Kayseri province on Tuesday.

The Ivankova sisters disappeared on November 16 while attempting to ascend from Sokullupinar to Kizilkaya summit in Camardi district.

Search efforts, involving gendarmerie, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE), and volunteer rescue teams, located them in the Hacer Forests of Yahyali district.

‘Their health condition is good’

Transported to Turkish city of Kayseri under medical supervision, their condition was confirmed as stable.

In a written statement, the Nigde Provincial Governor’s Office detailed, “Two Belarusian women reported missing on November 19 near Demirkazik Mountain were found at 4:50 PM in Hacer Forests. Their health condition is good.”

On November 16, no contact was made with twin sisters from Belarus, who climbed from Sokullupinar in Aladaglar to Kizilkaya summit. The Belarusian Consulate notified Turkish authorities on November 19, initiating a swift and coordinated rescue operation.
