Cyclist Tomas Mac says ‘99% of people in world are kind and good’
Mac sets out on a global cycling adventure, pedaling across continents to explore diverse cultures and landscapes
For Tomas Mac, a Ballyferriter native from County Kerry, the world is an expansive network of kindness and humanity, that is discovered one pedal stroke at a time. He said that about “99% of people in the world he met are kind and good,” BBC reported.
After graduating from university in Galway, he began cycling across the U.S. in 2016, kick-starting his global adventure.
What began as a quest to cover miles has transformed into a mission to experience the world and its people.
Tomas recently completed a journey across Afghanistan, Iran, India and Pakistan, adding to his extensive travels across Africa, Asia and Australia.
Despite the allure of speed, Tomas savors the slow cycling pace, allowing him to immerse himself in diverse cultures and connect with people.
He believes in the inherent goodness of humanity, noting that 99% of people he encounters are kind-hearted.
Timelines do not dictate Tomás’s journey; instead, it is fueled by his passion for exploration and appreciation for the world’s beauty.
As he continues his global odyssey, Tomas remains committed to embracing the journey; one wheel turns at a time.
