In a nationwide operation across 66 provinces, Turkish authorities arrested 459 suspects linked to the FETO terrorist organization during the “KISKAC-30” operation.

The arrests targeted various structures within the terrorist group, including financial and organizational branches.

The operation, led by Chief Public Prosecutors’ Offices and coordinated by the Turkish National Police Counterterrorism Department, involved provincial police teams across Türkiye.

Key provinces where arrests were made include Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Antalya.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya published the details of the operation on his social media account on X and said, “After the death of the ringleader of FETO; there is no room for any slackening in our fight against this treacherous terrorist organization! We will fight until we cleanse this treacherous structure that attempted to stage a coup against our national will.”

“I congratulate our Chief Public Prosecutor’s Offices who coordinated the operations and our Heroic Police Officers who carried out the operations. May God not let you touch a stone. Our nation’s prayers are with you” Yerlikaya added.

Suspects accused of multiple offenses

Authorities reported the suspects were investigated for a range of activities, including:

  • Engagement in FETO’s current organizational structure.
  • Financial and student-related activities.
  • Communication through payphones and encrypted apps like Bylock.
  • Propagating FETO messages on social media.
  • Residing in “Gaybubet Evleri” (hideouts).
  • Benefiting from coded advantages in examinations.
