The General Directorate of Security Affairs will recruit 12,000 new police officers in 2025, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, outlining the set quota.

Yerlikaya emphasized the critical role of security in fostering economic growth, particularly in the tourism sector, during a press briefing held after a security meeting at the Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management in Mugla.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized, “Without safety and security, no sector, especially tourism, can thrive. Where there is security, there is peace; where there is peace, prosperity follows.” He also announced that 12,000 new police officers will be recruited in 2025 to strengthen the national police force.

Details of police recruitment quota

Yerlikaya explained that the recruitment process will include:

  • 9,600 officers from bachelor’s degree holders:
    • 8,160 men
    • 1,440 women
  • 2,400 officers from associate degree holders:
    • 2,040 men
    • 360 women

The recruitment will be conducted through a publicized exam, and those who succeed will join the Turkish police force, which Yerlikaya described as a 179-year-old institution of pride and tradition.

“These recruits will add strength to our police force, and I wish all candidates success in the examination process,” Yerlikaya concluded.
