Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a phone call on Tuesday, addressing the ongoing violence in Gaza and Lebanon, both facing continued Israeli attacks.

According to Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli, the two officials also discussed efforts to advance the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia has been ongoing since 1991, when Armenia occupied Karabakh, a region internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan.

Following a 2020 war and a Russian-brokered ceasefire, Azerbaijan regained control over most of the territory, culminating in full sovereignty over Karabakh in September 2023.

Meanwhile, Israel’s offensive on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, has led to over 43,000 deaths and left the region nearly uninhabitable. The conflict has extended to Lebanon, with Israeli airstrikes killing nearly 3,200 people and injuring over 14,000 since last October.
