Members of parliament from Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Germany participated in a protest in Georgia against the results of the parliamentary elections held on October 26.
Opposition parties in Georgia, which do not accept the results of the parliamentary elections held on October 26, where the ruling Georgian Dream Party emerged victorious, continue their protests in the capital, Tbilisi.
In the evening, participants of the protest, called “We Are Europe,” gathered in front of the parliament building, waving Georgian and European Union (EU) flags while chanting anti-government slogans.
The protest was organized by opposition parties that crossed the 5% threshold in the elections. MPs from Finland, Sweden, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, and Germany, who were in Tbilisi for meetings, also joined the demonstration.
Opposition leaders at the protest claimed the government had rigged the elections and demanded a re-run of the vote.
