Turkish Airlines introduces special iftar, sahur menus for Ramadan
Turkish Airlines caters to its passengers during Ramadan with special iftar and sahur menus
As the holy month of Ramadan begins, several airlines have started offering special iftar and sahur menus to accommodate their Muslim passengers, with Turkish Airlines (THY) joining this initiative. Throughout Ramadan, Türkiye’s national flag carrier THY has prepared special meals for iftar and sahur, in addition to launching ticket campaigns for the period.
The airline announced that on domestic economy flights coinciding with iftar times, passengers will be served special boxes prepared by its catering partner, Turkish Do&Co. These boxes include homemade pita bread sandwiches, dates, instant soup, olives, and a small box of baklava.
International flight meals
Turkish Airlines has not forgotten its international passengers either. Economy class passengers on international flights during Ramadan will also receive special boxed iftar meals. Business class passengers on domestic flights coinciding with iftar times have been catered with a special menu as well. This menu begins with a plate of iftar delicacies, including pastirma, a variety of cheeses, dates, and olives. The main course features a selection of the most delicious hot dishes from Turkish cuisine. For dessert, passengers can enjoy traditional Ramadan sweets such as gullac, ekmek kadayifi, trilece, and sutlac according to their preference.
Additionally, for passengers on international flights during sahur times, Turkish Airlines is offering healthy sahur options in addition to its regular in-flight catering service, ensuring that fasting passengers’ needs are met even at pre-dawn hours.
