Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan sign 19 agreements to strengthen bilateral ties
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov oversaw the signing of 19 agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The signing ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Bishkek following head-of-state and inter-delegation meetings.
Agreements spanning security, economy and energy
Among the agreements, a significant “Cooperation in Security” pact was signed by Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding on economic and financial cooperation was signed by Minister Fidan and Kyrgyz Finance Minister Almaz Baketayev.
Notable cooperation in health and culture
The two countries also focused on health and culture. A protocol for cooperation in organ transplantation and agreements on joint management of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship State Hospital was signed by Health Minister Kemal Memisoglu and his Kyrgyz counterpart Alimkadyr Beishenaliev.
Tourism and Culture Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Kyrgyz Culture Minister Altinbek Maksutov signed an agreement on joint audiovisual productions.
Hydroelectric project framework agreement
A framework agreement on the implementation of hydroelectric power plant construction and operation projects was signed by Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibrayev and Ahmet Mucahid Oren, chairman of Orta Asya Investment Holding.
This collaboration highlights the importance of energy projects in strengthening economic ties.
