Earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude strikes Greece on Sunday, according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).

The quake was at a depth of 11 km (6.84 miles), EMSC said.

No immediate reports of damage or casualties have emerged. Authorities are assessing the situation and advising residents to stay alert.

Meanwhile, Geodynamics Institute of the National Observatory of Athens put the magnitude of the earthquake at 5.2 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake was felt in Greece’s second largest city of Thessaloniki and the popular tourist center of Halkidiki in the north.

This was not the first earthquake to shake Greece this year. The last major earthquake reported in the country was in late August on the island of Evia.
