General Director of Cinema Birol Guven, who met with executive producers from various TV series, mentioned that Turkish TV series have nearly 1 billion viewers spanning 180 countries

Turkish TV series have nearly 1 billion viewers in 180 countries, General Director of Cinema Birol Guven said at a meeting with the series’ executive producers at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM).

Speaking after the meeting, which discussed problems and solutions experienced by professionals during filming in Istanbul, Guven said, “Istanbul will always play a key role.”

Guven said the residents of the filming location experienced some problems during production, and they are working together to find solutions. Their goal is to facilitate the shoot without disrupting the area’s peace and daily life.

Guven said their initial meetings were with the executive producers of series who regularly shoot in the same locations for weeks, months, and sometimes even years. Expressing that they are proud of the Turkish TV series, Guven said, “Nearly 1 billion people in 180 countries watch these series. The majority of these series are shot in Istanbul.”

Guven stated that they will also hold meetings with production designers to discuss the difficulties they face during filming in Istanbul.
