Hollywood’s acting coach Chubbuck set to inspire Türkiye’s talent in Istanbul

Ivana Chubbuck, celebrated as one of the world’s most respected acting coaches and credited with shaping the careers of many Oscar-winning stars, is coming to Istanbul in December.

Known for her transformative approach in guiding Hollywood icons like Brad Pitt and Halle Berry, Chubbuck will be hosting an acting workshop at the Trump Culture and Performance Center on Dec. 15-16.

Ahead of the prestigious event, Chubbuck shared her enthusiasm for Türkiye: “I can’t wait to return! Türkiye’s culture, warmth, and the incredible people I’ve met always captivate me. I’m here to help people create a stronger world through art. I’m eager to work with the talented individuals in Türkiye, inspire them, and grow together.”

I plan to revisit the avant-garde Turkish designers I discovered last time and dive even deeper into the city’s unique crafts. My passion for Turkish carpets endures – I’ve adorned my home with their elegance,” she shared.

Who is Ivana Chubbuck?

Chubbuck was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1953. Her Jewish father fled Nazi persecution and resettled in the United States, inspiring Chubbuck’s commitment to resilience. She developed her unique 12-step acting technique to demonstrate how pain can be constructively channeled, which has since become a hallmark of her work. Chubbuck’s book, “The Power of the Actor,” is used as a textbook in colleges worldwide, translated into numerous languages, including Turkish, Italian and Japanese.

With a vast list of celebrity clients, including Charlize Theron, James Franco, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sharon Stone and Gal Gadot, Chubbuck’s influence spans continents. Her workshops have been held across countries like Australia, Canada, Israel and Italy.
